JT riding on a Tractor

Mike (our farmer) came out to the house today to get our pastures ready for planting. One of the pastures Scott will be doing food plots for when he's raising pheasants. In the other pasture, we are planting corn, pumpkins, etc. This is all in anticipation of JT's birthday party in October when we are going to have his b-day party with corn mazes, pumpkin picking/painting, hay rides, etc... Oh yeah, we'll be freezing corn as well but that's not quite as important as the party!

Mike told JT he would let him ride on the tractor with him last fall so JT has been waiting all spring to get his ride. This morning when he heard the tractor outside he had to hurry and get dressed and run outside to see if he could go for a ride. Mike is such a nice guy he was more than willing to let JT jump in with him. JT loved it and had a great time. He said the tractor was really nice.

Outside Finally!

What a beautiful day for being outside today! Since we went to church today, I figured it made perfect sense to take pictures of the kids in their nice clothes before JT decided it was a day for shorts and tank tops! JT was a great sport, normally he hates it when I make him get pictures. I had a hard time getting good ones of Madelyn with her eyes open outside so I'll try again later this week if the weather stays nice.

Papa and Nana Visit

Papa and Nana made a quick trip to Sidney to see baby Madelyn. It was great having them visit and we wish they could have stayed a little longer. We are planning on meeting up with them next weekend half way for a camping trip. We are so excited to get our camper out for the summer. My job for the next week is to get the camper ready for the big Memorial Day weekend.

JT's Last Soccer Game

Here are some pictures I'm posting late... JT was more interested in soccer this year. Last year he chased his shadow this year he was a little more interested in the game! Of course, they won every game so he tells us....

Madelyn's First Days Home

Mom took charge for bath time! JT, Grandpa and I were in charge of camera's and videoing. Madelyn is not a fan of being naked or having her diaper changed.

JT loves his baby sister very much. He can't stand being away from her. He wants to hold her all the time and he does very well. He held her for an hour and didn't want to give her up. What a great big brother. He's is very proud of her and has taken pictures to school with him!!

She's been doing very well. She's has been sleeping and loves to look around. She's wrapped daddy around her finger but we all knew that would happen. They both love their Daddy/Maddy time.

JT at the Hospital

JT has been such a great little boy as we have gone through the pregnancy. He has been so excited to see his baby sister. He just couldn't wait to meet her. A friend of ours brought him to us the next morning so he could see her. He stayed the whole day without leaving. He wouldn't even go get ice cream with Scott. He wanted to be with his baby sister Maddy! My parent left early on Thursday morning to be with us. He finally decided he could go home with grandma and grandpa. Thanks to my parents for coming to help us with the first week of Madelyn's life. I loved having them here with us. It's not often we get to spend extended time with them.

Madelyn Jean Collignon

Madelyn Jean made a mad dash into the world on May 7th at 1:35 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs 1 3/4 ounces and was 19 inches long. What an evening for all of us. We went in and were induced. He broke my water at 10:30 and Madelyn was ready to get moving. If you know the history of JT, I wasn't able to get an epideral...I told the doctor we could not have a repeat of this. He agreed and said we'd check on me again at 2:30 and see what was next. His prediction was that we would deliver by 8:00 a.m. the next morning. Yeah, right!

After twenty minutes I was already in pain and told Scott I had to get an epideral soon. He went to the nurse and said she's moving quickly. Of course, by the time the anestialogist and doctor got there it was too late. We won't go into details but we brought our beautiful daughter into the world quickly again, with no epideral.

Scott was one proud papa from the second she was born. She'll be lucky to be get out of his sight! We missed Aunt Mary Ann's birthday by 1:35 minutes but in Hawaii it was still the 6th. We tried Mary Ann!!
